Fantástico.

Gosh, y'all, there are so many fun and wonderful things I could talk about. I'm going to describe a few of my favorite moments thus far.

1. Eating with our host mom, Eloisa: She is PRECIOUS. Every meal so far has been really good. We had pulpo, or octopus for lunch yesterday! How funny. So far, that's been our strangest meal. She's served us hamburgers, french fries, rice, chicken, and a few other spanish meals that I'm not sure of the name of.

Also, she says something funny every time we talk. Today we asked her about pushing our three twin-sized beds together and she said it would make a "supercama." (Super bed).  She also called Dunkin' Donuts "Donkey coffee." Last night, we talked about how she met her husband and their wedding and she showed us all these beautiful photos. Now I really want to get married in Spain, haha. They met when she was 17 working at a shoe store and got married when she was 20. He's showed us pictures of their family beach trips to Malága and from his trabajo, or job. My favorite was when he showed us pictures of Real Madrid soccer players, and Eloisa was standing behind him giving a thumbs up or down if they were hot or not. So funny. They are such a sweet, loving, happy family.

Here's a picture from her facebook of her and Dario, the youngest son.

2. Seeing the Alhambra  at night: ¡Qué magnífico! After seeing a Flamenco show in one of the gypsy caves with our group, a group of us walked around the city until we found this huge open area where you could see the whole city and the Alhambra was all lit up. We were seriously in awe.  There was a little blonde headed boy, probably about 2 or 3 years old, with his grandpa, and he was dancing to these Spanish people's guitar/singing. So adorable. We took lots of pictures and it was a really fun night.
Incredible!

3. Corriendo con amigos, or running with friends: My roommate, Caiti, and I have found two awesome places to go running the past two days. The first was this Saturday, when we went searching for el Parque Federico García Lorca, which is named after a famous poet/playwright in Granada. We were unsuccessful, and walked with our friend Kate down this gravel road next to tons of corn fields. We eventually ended up next to the river, and a biking trail is right beside it! It turned out to be a beautiful place to run.

After heading back, we found the park, which turned out to be five minutes from our house. It has a cafe, duck pond, playground, tons of flowers and trees and grass to lay in, and this random workout equipment. Guess I won't have to join a gym this semester haha. Adam went running with Caiti and I yesterday, and he really enjoyed our amazing view of the city.

I took these with my phone.

4. Siestas! Every afternoon, all the stores close from about 2-5/6ish for a city-wide siesta, or nap. I've never had the time to just relax this much and sleep. Seriously, American needs to adopt this policy. People don't work nearly as much here; they take time to enjoy their families and friends and life. So wonderful.

Shengong Wenwu and I before una siesta.

There have many so many more things, but I'm getting a little tired of writing. My daily schedule for this month looks a little like this: Wake up around 7/7:30, start walking to class at 8:30,  classes every Monday from Friday from 9-1, then lunch at 2, siesta/relaxing, shopping/exploring, then dinner at 8:30/9, hanging out with friends, skype, then bed around 12! My spanish profesores here are 1000x better than the ones at home because they are so funny and awesome at explaining hard concepts; I have learned so much already from just TWO days!

Caiti and I are most likely (not 100% sure) going to LAGOS, PORTUGAL next weekend!!! It's a trip offered by a travel program called DiscoverGranada (also DiscoverSevilla), and it's only 139 Euro for transportation, hotel for two nights, breakfast both mornings, and all the fun activities. It's all university students. Here's a video if you want to see it! http://youtu.be/LpnV9QovgI4

I'll try to update again later. Love you all!
