Celebrate.

Oh my goodness! This intensive month has FLOWN by! I cannot believe we have our exam for our class tomorrow! Less than three months left in this beautiful country :/ I've got to make the most of it! This weekend was really fun because on Saturday morning, Tori, Ashlee, and I went on an adventure through the city to find a market that everyone has been talking about. We took two different buses, asked three precious little old people for directions, walked around the huge fútbol stadium, and finally arrived at el Mercado that we were searching for. It ended up having all these clothes and shoes and just stuff for super super cheap. I got a sweater there for five euros. It was really fun to walk through.
Us on the bus!

That afternoon, all of our friends went to go see a bullfight, which I refused to see because I cannot pay money to support something so cruel. So, I went to the park with Adam instead. He brought double stuffed oreos, which are a delicacy here, and his laptop full of pirated movies! We watched "No Strings Attached" with Ashton Kutcher and Natalie Portman; I loved it. We're obsessed with this scene:

Gosh. They are seriously two of my favorite actors. We both definitely shed a couple tears after that hahaha. It was really great to just sit at a café in the park and watch a movie. I know that sounds a little silly, but I'm used to watching movies all the time. Like this summer, Will and I watched them at least once a week. It's so relaxing and fun, and I hadn't watched any since I arrived here a month ago. Plus, if you go to the movie theater, they're all in Spanish, and it's just not the same. Thank goodness Adam has about 50 movies on his computer. It should keep us and our friends occupied for the next few months.

After dinner, I went with Tori and two of her friends from class to Kebap, which is basically the Taco Bell equivalent in Spain: cheap, greasy food that people love getting at 3 in the morning. One of her friends was from Granada, and it was really fun because we talked to him in Spanish for most of the conversation. He taught us how to say, "I have goosebumps," like when you're cold. In Spanish, it's "Tengo la piel de gallina," or I have the skin of a chicken. It cracked us both up so much.

Sunday, I went to the English church service! Y'all don't understand how great it is to hear people worshipping unless you haven't heard it in person for a longgg time. It was so encouraging and uplifting. We talked about David and how his and Jonathan's friendship was something we should all strive for with others. It was deep because of their shared view of God, daringly sacrificial; Jonathan gave up his kingdom so David could follow God's plan for him, and encouraging; they lifted each other up and made covenants with one another. It made me miss my church community so much! But, it's really cool that I'm able to have one here. Thank you Lord for providing this! We chilled the rest of the day, then went to parade for the Patron Saint of Granada and watched fireworks and got chocolate milkshakes. I got to skype with folks during their Mocha Club meeting at Panera! :) Perfect ending to the day!

Last night, I went to Bible study and we talked about the first chapter of Colossians. We're going to work on dwelling on scripture and are memorizing Colossians 1:28-29: "We proclaim Him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ. To this end I labor, struggling with all his energy, which so powerfully works in me." Afterwards, a group of us went out to a discoteca called "Mae West" to celebrate Adam's birthday. (I know that sounds bad, going out after bible study, but I promise, I have my head on straight!) It was really fun; we danced to the crazy Spanish music. Nadia almost pulled an empalmar but ended up going home and sleeping for an hour. She was absolutely cracking me up in class today! I really love all the friends I've made here so far; I feel like it's such a great balance. Tonight after their class, I'm going with Caiti and Shane to take Adam to a restaurant right by our house for a brownie ice cream dessert! So pumped. :) But for now, I need to siesta and study! Hasta luego! Next update will probably be about Italy!!
